This year's ThunderCon, set for Sept. 17 and 18, will feature programming from local organizations including the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra and Science North. ThunderCon is thrilled to highlight local attractions and community groups that continue to enrich the lives of the residents of Thunder Bay. The Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, Thunder Bay Public Library, Science North, Thunder Bay Museum, and the Thunder Bay Transportation Museum will be providing programming at ThunderCon 2022 made possible in part by Tbaytel’s Community Sponsorship Program. “Thunder Bay has both amazing talent and dedicated community leaders that work year-round to support not-for-profit groups and charities,” says Chair, Kevin Taylor. “ThunderCon is proud to be able to provide a community driven event that adds to that tradition. We are fortunate that partners like Thunder Bay Public Library, Science North, TBSO and the museums can inspire new generations of people to seek out culture and knowledge in their hometown.” A quartet from the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra will be performing a selection of recognizable tunes from movies you know and love to get you geared up for their 2022 season. Meanwhile The Thunder Bay Public Library will be providing recommendations for young and experienced readers. Science North, another newcomer to Thundercon, will be highlighting its Northern Road Show attraction as well as providing some informative discussion about the science of super-powers, while the Museums will be highlighting their organizations for a new audience. Tbaytel’s Community Sponsorships are available to incorporated non-profit organizations and charities in eligible sectors to apply to year-round. New and unique community projects can apply now for Tbaytel’s Yearly Community Fund, which is voted on by a panel of community judges and voted on by the Thunder Bay public once a year. ThunderCon runs Sept. 17-18, 2022, at the CLE grounds. For more information, go to www.thundercon.org, or contact chair Kevin Taylor at [email protected] TBNewswatch
